Sunday School

Kids Sunday School

Our Sunday School gives children the opportunity to learn the great stories and characters of the Bible in a loving and supportive environment.  It is through these stories and characters that God reveals Himself to us.  People like Jesus, Moses, King David, Peter, Paul, Barnabas, etc. lived lives that we can learn from.

Our The Bible is our norm and guide for faith and life!  It is the ultimate book of recovery!  Knowledge of the Bible and the application of its message and teachings are essential parts of the “abundant life” that Jesus promises.  Daily Bible reading immerses us in God’s love and allows Him to reveal His plan for our lives.

Homeless Feeding the Homeless

This is a ministry that is near and dear to the heart of First Community Recovery Church for two reasons. First of all, Jesus clearly instructs us to feed the hungry. But secondly, many of us at the church have been homeless, hopeless and hungry as a consequence of our addiction and we have never forgotten what that was like. For these reasons we take this ministry very seriously!

Choir

What is a church without a choir? And First Community Recovery Church has one of the best! Sunday after Sunday God uses our choir to lift us to new heights of worship and praise! They are the heartbeat of Sunday morning! We have yet to see anyone who didn’t sense the presence of God’s Holy Spirit when our choir sings! Their enthusiasm and joy are contagious!

LOVE and SERVICE are what fuel our recovery and faith. In order to gain recovery we first learn to receive God’s love and the love of our family and friends. If we are to grow in our recovery we need to seek opportunities to get outside of ourselves and share the love we have been given.
